Kinsella Quarry environmental review
The state DEC agreed the Town Board should lead the environmental review of the quarry zone change. A 30-day notice period begins, and a positive declaration requiring further study is likely.
Woodland Hills stormwater violations and stop work order
Residents downstream of the Woodland Hills subdivision described mudslides, clogged culverts, property damage, and a road made impassable during the July 30 storm. The ZBA upheld the stop work order, keeping construction halted until the developer fixes erosion controls. A separate court case against the developer is pending.
Deer management program expansion
The town, county, and Village of Fayetteville will run the joint deer damage management program one more year, with a town-wide plan planned for 2027.
DEC freshwater wetland mapping changes
New state wetland mapping triggered review requirements for two of the three applications. Applicants must obtain DEC jurisdictional determinations or permits where the new mapping applies.
Meadowbrook-Limestone Wastewater Treatment Plant Concerns
Councilor Nesci reported the county plant is in final design with construction now expected to start mid-fall — later than previously promised — with odors plaguing nearby residents in the meantime.
Farmland and Limestone Creek conservation
The board backed a state farmland protection grant for the Spicer Farm and a CNY Land Trust climate resiliency grant that could create a new public nature preserve on Limestone Creek.
Landfill monitoring
The town renewed landfill monitoring services with Miller Engineering at $39,000, continuing environmental oversight of the former landfill site.
